The Calgary Poppy Fund launched its campaign Friday in support of veterans across the city.
Poppy boxes will start to appear at several locations across the city with all donations going to support the Veteran’s Food Bank.
The money will go towards 1,000 food hampers from the gerous help of households and corporations in Calgary.
The group will kick off their launch at 10:30 Saturday morning at Chinook Centre with a colour guard parade march.
An official ceremony will follow at 11 to pay tribute to fallen soldiers and their families.
Last year’s campaign raised $16.5 million across Canada.
