Notley allocates $50 million to entrepreneurs

Alberta Premier Rachel Notley was in Calgary Friday to announce a $50 million funding boost for entrepreneurs to get their idea off the ground.

The allocated money from the 2015 budget will allow the new Alberta Enterprise Corporation (AEC) to provide Alberta companies with more access to capital.

The funding will be split up over two years with $25 million being available each year.

AEC’s use of government dollars has already resulted in a more than $290 million investment in Alberta businesses which have created more than 1,000 jobs in the province.
