The Federal Government has approved 2 major pipeline projects today.

Kinder Morgan will expand its pipeline between Alberta and Burnaby and cost about $6.8 billion dollars.

This line will produce about 900,000 barrels of oil a day which would triple the current amount it produces.

Enbridge Line 3 will replace an older pipeline between Hardisty, Alberta to Wisconsin and cost $7.5 billion dollars.

This will carry 760,000 barrels a day which is double what it produces now.

Justin Trudeau made the announcement from Ottawa saying “If I thought this project was unsafe for the B.C coast I would reject it”.

Trudeau did reject the Northern Gateway pipeline that was suppose to run from Bruderheim, Alberta to Kitimat, B.C.

The Northern Gateway was strongly opposed by B.C. residents with 50 per cent against it and only 35 per cent supported it.
