Fish and Wildlife officials looking for poacher, after a cougars body was discovered outside of Cochrane

Alberta Fish and Wildlife are on the search for a poacher who killed a cougar and abandoned it just outside of Cochrane.

Cougar season was closed at the time of the kill, and if found the poacher could be facing a $50,000 fine or a year in prison.At the scene where the cougar was discovered, officials found a pair of green work gloves, and a fire that was still burning.

Alberta Fish and Wildlife are asking that anyone with any information regarding the poacher please contact the Report a Poacher line at  1-800-642-3800 or to file a report online.
