AHS warns Albertans about Covid-19 scam

Alberta Health Services is warning Albertans to be aware of a phone scam that is currently going around during this Covid-19 outbreak. This scam involves virus test results, and the scammer is calling people and telling them that they have been tested positive for the known virus and to give their credit card details over the phone so they can have their antibiotics shipped to them.

AHS will never call and ask for credit card details

In times of great stress scams like these can be easy to fall for, with that in mind AHS put out a statement that said “please be aware that AHS will never call and ask for credit card details ,if you receive a call, please hangup the phone immediately and call the non- emergency line for your local police.” AHS is really urging people to stay safe and alert.
