August 20 is Farmworker Day, that was the day (1999) Farmworker Terry
Carl Rash was hacked and slashed by his farm boss for making a mistake
at work and left to die in a roadside ditch. In 2005 the AFL declared
August 20 Farmworker Day as a day to honour those who toil to put food
    on our tables.

The place and time:  University of Calgary, Murray Fraser Hall Room
4330. Monday, August 21st from 1 to 4 PM. Barbeque luncheon.
Farm Workers’ Day, Monday, August 21st, to honour the many

(UBC) and Bob Barnetson (Athabasca). The event is co-hosted by Shirley
McDonald, Liberal MLA David Swann, and Jennifer Koshan (Calgary).
