Pannone into record books as Jays lose

The Toronto Blue Jays dropped the third game of the series against the hot Tampa Bay Rays. This lose drops the Blue Jays record to 5-11.

Blue Jays relief pitcher Thomas Pannone threw his way into the record books by throwing the third immaculate inning in Toronto history. The lefty pitcher struck out Avisail Garcia, Brandon Lowe, and Daniel Robertson on just nine pitches. Pannone joins Steve Delabar and Roger Clemens as the only Blue Jays to accomplish this rare feature.

“He was outstanding”

After Marcus Stroman only pitched five inning’s, the Jay’s manager Charlie Montoyo had to rely heavily on his bullpen. Montoyo credited Pannone after the game on his solid three innings of work, saying “For sure he saved our bullpen today… we didn’t have many arms, and he was outstanding. That was great to see. Now that he’s stretched out, so if we ever need him again to, he can do that. He has been very good.”

The Jays head off to Minnesota for a four game series against the Twins.
